Fronts are also going to be much more extensive, since I plan on replacing the steering rack while I'm in there, as well as new rack bushings, control arms and (obviously) struts.

on it's way this weekend is an 03/04 Cobra center console too, since I'm getting rid of the push start button.

There's a very good reason Koni Yellows are painted gold.

They look the same save for the analog/digital switch

I love real gauges, not idiot lights disguised as gauges

Good guess.

I haven't adjusted them at all. I want to use the tool and set them properly since I'm still scared of the "just use a wrench" idea. I think it'll look pretty trick with holes cut out of the trunk trim for easy adjustment. I might pick up an extra adjuster to have sitting on it for shows.

In your car, or in the new edges? My gauges are all real, I wanna know what's really going on, not just see what I'm "supposed" to.

i hate that crap...most of the time, especially with temp gauges, if it's not reading the actual temp, by the time it rises high enough for you to notice, it's too **** late

Well mine bounces around like a seven year old with caffeine. I'm fairly sure I have a ground issue though.

Mine doesn't move much... it barely ever makes it to the N in NORMAL in the middle of the gauge

Well I was planning on waiting until I got the struts in to do a real "review" on the Konis, but I decided I might as well have at it since I am bored at midnight anyway, so here goes nothing.

I guess the best way to show the good in a product, is to show what it solved over the old product. So here we are looking back at the Tokicos: Basically could not dampen the forces put on it. It's unfortunate because a lot of people (myself included) saw the Tokico Blues as a bit of an upgrade from the stock units, when in actuality they are just a good replacement shock. They never felt like they were settled, but instead like they bounced off bumps in the road and left me with no confidence as a driver.

The Konis, on the other end of the spectrum, eat bumps and hold you firm to the ground. I was truly astounded by the amount of adjustability. I expected (pessimistically like my dad) that the adjustments would be something you couldn't really feel; that it would just be "different" and that that in itself would be more mental than actual. I'm glad I was wrong. It's insane how comfortable the ride is at full soft, and how the shocks just eat the bumps in the road and keep you on track. Regardless of where they are, they always feel settled and give limitless amounts of courage to the driver to go faster. All in all, I really do believe that the Konis were worth the 450 I spent on them, especially with 0 miles, I think I got a smoking deal.

I told Arin, and now it's going on to all of you. I think I'm set on keeping the car for the foreseeable future. I just don't have the funds to upgrade now, and I'm really thinking about building a Mod motor, or putting all the parts together to eventually drop a 4 Valve in, be it a Cobra or a Mark VIII, I'm not sure yet. I really like the idea of keeping my car since it'd be neat to have a 4 valve 94, but it's a lot of work with all the wiring and everything. It'll be interesting to see where it goes, but I'm sure I can make it cheaper than buying a Cobra, and I can keep all the stuff I've done so far.

Great to know those shocks work as advertised And even greater to know you'll keep the car. As for having a cammer, why not buy one in the future and have both?

Glad you like the Konis. A good example of some parts being worth the price.

I have found that about a turn and a half from full stiff is the point where good handling meets comfort.

Today, disaster struck. About two months ago I brought my car to Costco to get a tire repaired. Fast forward to today, and guess what is missing. My wheel lock key. I call Costco, and ask if they by some stroke of luck still have it. They asked me to come in, so I did. They didn't have it, and they are sending me clear across town to have my lugnuts broken, lugs replaced, and all that jazz. They said they would comp me for whatever it costs, which is great, I mean I can not ask for more, except... I just want my stupid key.

So I'm going to do a few calls tomorrow and see if there is a less painful way of doing this (they said if I could just buy a key somewhere, they would comp that instead). I just really wanted to get to work on the car before spring break ends. I can really feel how much the front suffers over the rear now.

On a much happier note, which I forgot, I got the new console in. It doesn't color match, but it still looks pretty good. I would even say that it looks good in normal lighting situations. For 40 bucks... it was worth it. And I get the two cup holders, which is two more than I had before. stupid fold out cupholder that couldn't hold anything...

Do you need the factory wheel lock key? I have one laying around that I don't need.

No, it's aftermarket. I appreciate it though.
