Thanks Nate. The pedals are definitely a pain in the **** to put on, but I think now that the burns have healed they were worth it. The clutch and brake were extremely difficult to stretch over the pedals, and the accelerator was hard to take off, but fairly simple to put the new one on. If all of them were like the dead pedal, Peter would be one happy person. Haha.

New tires?
I found two used Bridgestone Potenza RE730 235/40 R17 for $50 on craigslist, so I told the guy I'd be down tomorrow to pick them up since I have worn almost through and through both of my front tires... (uneven wear which I'm assuming has to do with the fact that my sway bar end link on the driver's side snapped)
I was just curious if anyone had used either Gen I or Gen II since I don't know which Gen the ones that I am picking up are. Gen I seems to be getting bashed relentlessly, but I wanted to find out how bad they really are... I mean, for 50 bucks it doesn't really matter, but I'm just curious to get opinions on here.

Just picked them up and they look pretty good. One has a bit of uneven wear, but the other is very good. I'll have them mounted sometime this week, and then hopefully I'll be able to drive this weekend and get some freeway miles... Arin...

And because I am a friend of Arin's, he has worn off on me, and I have become obsessed with taking pictures of anything and everything that may or may not eventually be put onto my car....
The one with uneven wear.

235/ 40? /17
stock is 245/ 45 /17
Those tires will be about an inch smaller in total diameter than a stock 245/45/17. Therefore the front of your car will be about 1/2" lower after you put them on. And theres a good chance your ABS light will come on because your wheels will spin at different revolutions and this somehow messes with the ABS sensor but don't worry about it. My ABS light is on permanantly. I am running 245/40/17 front and 315/35/17 back. Just thought I'd let you know!!!

The ones that were on before were 235 40 17s so I think I'll be alright. I don't think my car was equipped with ABS anyway. So again, I should be alright. I do appreciate your concern though.
GRAYPNY: I was thinking that too, but they aren't THAT bad in person. The tread isn't completely worn away there, so I'm hoping it isn't past the point of no return.

Ignore the mess all over the ground, as well as the mess of wires hanging from behind the dash... I should really tuck those away sometime.

The party I was going to go to Saturday night was canceled, so I guess we have more time to work on your beat up hunk of junk.
The tires, by the way, are extremely loud. Someone who took both the back wheels off at the same time put them back on the wrong side.... Something I didn't realize until I put the new tires on the tri-bars and they asked which side of the car they were going on. When I checked the back tires they both have the "Rotate ->" facing the wrong direction. It shouldn't matter unless it's trying to dissipate rain, though, I assume... I'll have Arin help me switch them when I get up there.
