I just bought both on ebay... the CAI was $38 total and the headlights were $118. SO new headlights and a CAI for under $200... I think that an extremely good price.

Now lets just hope that it was in the condition that was advertised (which was new still in box). I'll post pix of everything when I install them both!

Sounds like perhaps a used one, but which one did you end up with?

Mestizo yes i did, from the same guy too...

the CAI has a K&N filter when just some no name brand pipe on it...

Name brand really doesn't matter on a CAI b/c they all do the same thing. If one had more air flow space than the others, that'd be a different story but, there's only so much room in a GT's engine bay...

No, name brand DOES matter, cheaper brands use crappier qaulity materials and dont take the time to R&D so they dont understand what angle of the CAI the engine reacts best to and they just go on with whatever angle fits in the engine bay. and pipes some are different sizes.

2 tips for the headlights. Just use the lights that come with the headlights, don't try to replace the lights(with Silverstars or other brands). It was too much of a hassle for myself. Also be careful pulling the stock headlight pins.

Name brand also matters if your state requires CARB certification on aftermarket parts. Some (maybe most) name brand CAIs are CARB compliant. No name CAIs might get you failed on a visual inspection, even if the sniffer doesn't find a problem.

I don't know what Louisiana's rules are, but in some states the smog ***** might get you...

(disclaimer: I'm just an Alabama guy who's never had to pass an inspection. Sometimes I wish AL did have inspections, just to get those smoke-screen emitting moving hazards off the road!)

I've never heard of any inspection in Louisiana... in a few years they'll be starting though (i think)

Update! Everything came in, just waiting for a day off to install it

I'd be careful getting no-name stuff on ebay. A co-worker bought a CAI for his '95 cavalier and it turned out to be cheap junk metal with some kind of flimsy foam "filter" on it. His 150 dollar ebay body kit (shipping cost more than the kit) was also made out of cheap thin plastic.
I've found that spending some extra money at reputable places on brand names leaves you less dissapointed when your part arrives even if it means having to save up more money.

I've bought many car pieces on ebay and never had a problem. It all depends on who you buy it from too. Always make sure you buy from a power seller, or at least someone with an ebay store.
