How Do I Get Rid Of The Rust??

hey all,
i need a little help here and some advise. i have a 2003 gt and i took all 4 wheels off to clean them and found rust on the inside of the rims, around the brakes, etc. i attached a pict for you to see. how do i remove the rust from these fairly easy since i am a novice at this stuff, and what would you recommend i use? i guess worse case is buying a whole new setup which i cannot afford right now. thanks
BTW there is 37,000 miles on the car and previous owner did NOTHING to clean the car!

Well you could get a scotchbrite pad(a fairly heavy grit one) for a drill or grinder and clean most of the loose rust off, paint the edges of the rotor and hat with a rust inhibiting primer and then with a high-heat paint. I would hit it with some brake clean before priming as there may be a bit of silicone or other oils on the unswept surfaces too from things like spray armor all or various grime from the road. You can mask the swept area with a token effort if you like but the pads will quickly clean the paint off the areas anyway so don't try TOO hard to tape it up. For it to be nice and subtle just go with a good flat black instead of tacky red rotor hats or something. BBQ black rustoleum may be fine for the whole job. High heat, rust inhibiting, and dead flat so it will let you get away with just about anything and still look good. Then you can do the normal caliper paint kits in whatever color you like, even gloss silver looks nice on those so they always look like clean aluminum..
