Should be an axle code right on the vehicle information tag on the inside of the door.

If your car is stock, and the rear gears are untouched, they are 3.27:1
Only the specialty (Mach1, Bullitt) cars got different ratios, and they had 3.55:1

I'm 99% sure 94-98 GTs got 2.73s stock. That's what my 94 GT has.

I was going by the picture in your avatar thinking it was a 99-04. Yes that code means it has a 2.73:1 ratio. That is what was installed in the automatic cars of that era. Change them out to 3.73:1 and really wake that baby up!

I'm fairly sure that all manuals got 2.73s and autos got 3.05s. I would suggest something closer to a 3.27 to give it a bit more oomph without losing much, if any, economy.

Buddies 1996 GT Auto has 3.27 Stock. I dont know if that was standard on the autos or optional.

Like it has been said, they are 2.73's. Autos got different gears due to the AODE, but all GT manuals got the 2.73's stock.

Mine has 3.27's and it's an auto. From fox to sn95's, the standard gears have been 2.73, 3.08 and 3.27. Manuals had 2.73's w optional 3.08's, autos were 3.08's and optional 3.27's IIRC.
