If you'd like them to actually get some use though...

Thanks guys . . .

I think I am going to keep my stock Mach rims/tires, but may try to sell the AFS Black Chrome Mach 1 wheels/tires after I clean them.

Dang you Jason! You didnt tell me you got the wheels in and were gonna install! Those look sweet bro, you need to road trip test em to make sure they are in good balance

Im with ya though, aside from teh CCW classics (or the fiske 3pc wheels used in GAC racing), the RK's and plasma's are my favorite wheels period.

I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want to jinx myself getting this set of RKs like I did last year!

Nice Mach 1! I must have the last bone stock Mach 1 in the US, the stock ones are getting rarer by the day it seems.

Love the wheels, compliments the car nicely.

Sommat just popped into my head.

How notable is it whilst driving that the wheels are lighter? I know you said you can feel the difference, but what does that difference feel like? 35-40lbs on an overall 3000lb+ vehicle strikes me as hard to notice.

I'm just rather curious

The steering feels lighter and more responsive. The 1/4 mile straight line difference is not noticable (in fact my gear ratio is under 3.55 now since I have taller tires in the back vs. the my previous 265/35/18 which are even a little shorter than the 245/45/17 stock wheels/tires.)

I haven't "tossed" her around too much, but the car feels lighter (not much, but as I mentioned it seems noticable to me) in the corners.

Any reduction in wheel weight reduces the amount of inertial weight at the rotational axis. The less weight there is spinning around, the easier it is for the engine to turn the wheel and the easier it is for the suspension to control wheel and tire movements.

Even small weight reductions of two to three pounds can make a significant difference. As an example, imagine spinning a two-pound weight on a string over your head. Now imagine the same thing with a 10-pound weight. The 10-pound weight will require much more effort to spin, and will be harder to control. The same principle holds true for road wheels and unsprung weight.

Another benefit of reduced wheel weight is that steering response will improve as there is a lighter load on the steering rack. And lighter wheels reduce the rotating mass of the vehicle, providing quicker acceleration and shorter stopping distances.

Looks good, Jason - I think your profile title should say "More wheel changes than Paris Hilton's vid"!

WAY too many wheels/tires . . . and I didn't even mention my pair of Cobra R replica with my drag radials for the track! I am little embarrassed to have so many sets right now.
I hear you. I have a set of Mach wheels, a set of prostar fats/skinnies with MT Streets and Sportsmans, a set of ET Drags, and a set of 17x9 Cobra wheels for road racing. I need to build a rack to put them on. They take up too much room in my shop stacked up.
