Engine swap

Ok quick question. How difficult would it be to swap a 05-2010 4.6L 3v engine into my new edge? I can get one from jegs which includes a manual tranny harness and flywheel for about 7K brand new. Would i need a new computer or just reprogram the existing one? Any advice and info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

I know it can be done, but how hard it is is a completely different topic. AFAIK the motor will bolt to your mounts, and that is about where the similarities end. You will need a comp from an S197, and I have my doubts about how nicely an unmodified intake will fit in our bays. I honestly think that going DOHC would be better than trying to mangle a 3valve in there. Just pick one up from a wrecked Mach or Cobra with no worries about fitment and the like.

Right. Cause those motors are everywhere. The 3v is a bear of a swap. 4v for sure but your gonna have to go teskid. The iron blocks are tough to find

Who wants the iron blocks anyways . I have a teskid block for my build, I wouldn't want an iron one.

Ohh nice. I came across an article the other day where a guy took the engine out of an 07 gallardo a dropped it in his mustang. Now its rear engine, RWD, and now has a big *** trunk in the front!

I've decided to do a 3v in my 2000. Mainly for one reason: the 3v only needs 2 cats because that's what the 05-10 came with stock. I want to do a 4v but everyone does them and parts are more expensive. There are a few New Edge cars running around with 3v swaps...I remember someone saying they rented a GT from Hertz and swapped the engines one weekend haha. I doubt that rumor was true though.

I plan on picking up a 2010 GT engine, built T56, and eventually the Edlebrock SC. Built IRS, all suede interior and matte Laser Red paint. It's going to take a couple years to build though...
