car will not restart, after intial first start.

1995 GT 5.0 coupe. Okay! I decided to replace most of the sensors on my baby since i.m approaching 100.000 miles. Engine ran fine before, just wanted to avoid any future problems. All my replacement parts were stricly OEM. New TPS,New IAC, New MAF, New egr Valve, New air filter. I did clean my throttle body and took the idle ajustment screw out to clean that also . Car started okay first try after installing the new parts, let it run for twenty minutes, shut it down had my coffee break and tried to restart, very difficult, had to crank the gas pedal a lot, never even used the pedal before when startng. Runs fine on the road, idles good doesn't miss, just doesn't want to restart. I'm lost. What did i do wrong, Remember, the engine ran fine before i got my hands on it. Thank you.

Double check all of your wiring and plugs.

Thank you Scothew. Plugs and wires good, just started it after heavy pedal pounding and took it to speed on the highway, runs good with no sign of anything fouled up, parked it the garage and tried to restart, no go!. Will autozone run a code check for me even through the engine check light doesn't come on? At least it will be a start.

Check all the connectors... Pumping the pedal does nothing on a fuel injected car, hold the pedal at part throttle and crank the car. Sounds like there may a a problem with your Throttle Position Sensor. Check the idle screw also.

Double check your MAF make shure the connection to the sensor is Correct. Also Make shure the MAF housing is properly sealed to the intake hose, and filter has a a good seal around the MAF housing. I have had this problem before. If that is good, Check and make shure u have properly installed tha IAC motor.

Thanx

Thanks again for all the help guys. I got it to the shop okay and told my mechanic what i did. He suspected a wash out of the cylinder walls and piston rings with excessive fuel. He did a compression check, sure enough, only read 60 compression, caused by a going bad starter and over cranking. He is drainng the contaminated oil, pulling the plugs and adding top oil to the cylinders, hopefully the rings will reseat. Will let you know how it turns out. retired and tired ( never to old to learn)
