I'm replacing my stereo and was going to give my dad my unit. Mine is from an 08 with aux port and his is a 06 without an aux port. He wants my unit because he wants the aux port capability. Is this possible?

I would think so..... why wouldn't it?

 

If the car its going into doesn't have the aux port in the center console it probably doesn't have the wires in the harness. You might have to wire that in yourself.

 

i think you would just have to plug it in and see. i just had the basic sng disk, no door speakers in mine and i bought a shaker 1000 off a guy ( not sure on the year though) because i wanted a 6 disk. it plugged right in and works great, i just dont have the speakers. it does not have the aux though, wish it did. i did also pic up the 2 door amps, but i would need the wires and some speakers to hook it up which i still want to try some day. so if you end up with any extra wires(hu to amp/amp to speakers) let me know

 

Unless the plugs are different, which they shouldnt be, I cant see why it wouldnt work. Should be exactly the same except for a couple wires for the aux port
