Hi,

I'm looking to replace the stock speakers in my Shaker 500. I will be keeping the stock head unit and door subs. Are these a good choice?

Infinity Reference 6812cf
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-j7hJS2nBeEb/c...400&I=1086812CF

And will they fit in the doors? Crutchfield says they will fit in the rear deck, but not the doors. I have a feeling they are wrong though.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks, but I'll be getting the reference speakers much cheaper since I won't be buying from Crutchfield.

I bought 2 pair of Infinity Reference 6812CF right after Christmas.

The installer went out of his way to find me and tell me they sounded "awesome". And they do.

Cool, do you have the Shaker 500?

So a question for all you in the know about car stereo. What difference will I get out of the infinity Kappa's over the reference's. I know the kappa's are 2 ohm, but I don't really understand what difference it makes. Does the shaker 500 have the power to run these, or will the 4 ohm reference's work better? Or willl either of these make any difference to the 500? I listen mostly to jazz, vocals and weird voices like Diamanda Galas, so not really looking for crazy bass or anything. Thanks all!

I went ahead and ordered them but I won't get to install them for a couple weeks. I'll follow up with how they sound.

Someone in another thread suggested that the reference speakers would be good for the stock shaker while the Kappas are better suited for a more powerful head unit. Sounds reasonable to me, I don't plan on upgrading the Shaker so I think the reference speakers will be just fine for my needs.
