What nav DVD to use?

I bought the OEM nav unit off ebay, but it didn't come with the nav disc. I looked to purchase the disc off ebay, but it seems that the discs come as 1P, 2P, 3P, 4P. The auctions state that some of these discs may not work in all units.

Is this the case? Mine came out of a 06 mountaineer, but will be programmed like an 07 Mustang. I live in Canada (if that makes a difference). Which one do I need?

Cheers

best bet is to ask your dealer for the part number and see if you can find one on ebay or just see if you can get it from the dealer so you know you will be getting the right one

I read that those are just the versions of dvd for the navigation. And 4P is the latest version. I think, that doesn't really matter what dvd get, just get the latest version.

My NAV system (purchased 2 months ago) came with a DVD titled:

FLM Navigation System
North America
Map Release 4P

It also has copyright information from Canada as well. "(C) Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Canada"

Part number appears to be: 7L2T-10E987-BB, Supplier Code EDMEA

Ouch. Too bad you didn't get the NAV disc, those are expensive. I know someone that had to drop $200 to replace theirs...

Hope this helps!

I just got the pioneer AVIC-D3, and I'm very happy with the navigation. I think its a less expensive alternative to the factory unit, plus it has full ipod controls. Got mine for under $700.00

chitucan, tha only difference in the radios is the programming. You will have to have it programmed to work in your car. It is not like the good old days where the radios were just radios, now they are small computers that interact with the cars systems. So now you can't just put any old factory radio in and it will work it has to have the code for your system. Which if you can find a dealer worth anything they should be able to program it for you.

I got a 4P disk back when I bought my Nav unit. Any ideas what they have updated for the 6p version? Any reason to spend money for an update yet?
