Head Unit Replacement Question

Any of you swap out the head unit on your non-nav mustangs? I think the base controls they give you look pretty bland and I'm thinking about picking up a different receiver to put in my car. Anyone have any suggestions on one's they've used or something they like? I would love to swap to a touchscreen but that's going to jack up the price and I don't really care about NAV capabilities since I have a phone with multiple GPS apps and a GPS itself.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Take a look at the 10-14 Interior and Audio Mod section above. You may find some helpful info in some of the threads there. HTH

I used the Scosche unit with a pioneer head unit. Everything worked well but the steering control unit from scosche. I returned it once too.

I got a lot of compliments on it.

The idata link with the Kenwood is awesome but significantly more $$$.

I would look at the Raxiom from AM if you can. I would think about it myself but there would be warranty issues. You can still use the steering wheel controls I believe. but its $$$$

The raxiom one is alright but a lot of money and still kind of boring to me. The stock head units in these cars seem to be pretty lacking IMO. I'm looking for something a little more flashy and nicer but idk what all that entails in terms of replacing the trim and which parts to remove and whatnot. I've heard about the idatalink maestros but combine that with a nice aftermarket head unit and its getting pretty expensive. I was hoping to do something simple that replaced the stock unit but maintained the functionality of sync and the steering wheel controls.
