I thought that too about the amp and I had it checked out by the installer who put in my jbl`s and he said it was working fine...hopefully it was just that the subs were defective or something but 2 pairs I dont know what the chances are of that lol....I still love the sony head units

When I went to have my new tint done they were talking about how Sonys quality standards went down when they started mass producing the xplodes for the mass market. Pioneer did the same thing in the 90's when they started doing the same thing and you could get their stuff at Kmart. I don't know if I buy that story. It seems they would have to keep certain standards or lose customers forever.

:nono: Several years ago Sony continued doing the engineering but started subbing a lot of their manufacturing out to less reputable low cost suppliers on a lot of their products.

ive had a lot of friends that had problems with xplods doing just that.....and i dislike pioneer.....i had a 800watt sub trying to push my 1 10" sub and it couldnt do it......i ended up with a 500watt memphis studios amp and it pushes the sub with no problem.....and just for the record its an alumapro bp-10
