UPR Antenna delete???

Has anyone installed or heard anything about how this works. I can't quite tell from the UPR website whether it is intended to still function as an antenna or not...

No it's not intended to be functional hence the name antenna DELETE.
Here's a pic of mine which I painted black.

i know Tacobill has one on his stang too, all you need is a metra interior antenna and the delete and it will give you show looks and function, i know Tacobill did a write up on how to install the interior antenna

Someone stayed up a little too late last night, huh?

That's why I asked. Wasn't sure if it deletes the physical antenna or the reception capabilities of the whole thing?

I did the same thing Leo did and yeah, I get like 1 radio station now... And poorly at that... Which is fine, cause that's what a 6-disc CD changer is for...

If your still going to have the ugly base with a nipple on it, what's the point?

That's really odd because I have the delete and I still get all of my local stations in town, FM and AM

I personally like it better than the full antennae, that's just me...

The closest radio station to me is about 45 minutes north of me... If I get closer, it comes in better, but where I am at, it's mostly static... And I get nothing on the AM... I hit scan and it just does a continuous loop! LOL!

Thanks guys.

I found Tacobill's install thread and after seeing all the hassle, I think I'll just go with a "shorty."

I was thinking the exact same thing. I wish they had at least put a short antenna on the roof like they do at GM.

It gets rid of the jumbo bayonet of an antenna and cleans up the looks of the car. It makes the base MUCH less noticeable. It's only 14 bucks...

I wish it was built into the glass and there was no externally mounted antenna

I don't see why someone doesn't use the stock antenna location for the Sirius antenna. That would be a good place for it don't you think?

+1 to that! To me "delete" means "get rid of the antenna and the hole" which that ugly spud DOESN'T do.

I'd rather have the antenna there. A shorty might not be a bad idea.

I'm sure at the end of the day no one is going to tell me, "Nice car but UGLY antenna though..."
