Still looking to make some lighting mods to my '08 GT interior and would really like some idea of what the unused plugs are under the console. I have 2 plugs under the cupholder area:

Plug A : 6 wires; Pur/Wht, Blu/Red, Blk, Pur, Yel, and Red/Blk

Plug B: 7 wires; Pur/Org, Org/Blu, Yel/Blk, Blk, Pur/Wht, Blu/Red, Pur

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this area? These are easy to reach and could simplify other wiring. Thanks

Do you have an auto or manual trans? Ambient lighting? One could be for the auto shifter and one for the lighting...

 

I have an '05 wiring diagram manual which shows different colors than the '08 and only one extra plug under there which is for the auto shifter. The auto shifter uses 6 wires on an '05. One of the wires is for illumination (light blue/red), but you also have different color wires than I do on the same plug. Take a 12 volt test light, clip to ground and probe the light blue/red wire to check for voltage when your lights are on.

 

Sorry, should have added the other details. This is a manual trans (one plug likely for the auto shift lever) and without ambient lighting (probably the other plug). I had jotted the colors on a piece of scratch paper while I had things apart installing a radio, so I might have made an error in the color or in reading my hurredly scratched note. Do you have the pin-outs on the auto shifter plug?

 

If you have a manual transmission car, the extra connector harnesses are for the shift interlock for the automatic transmission vehicles. This harness supplies the dip switch and shifter lock selenoid as well as the illumination for the PRND31 bezel indicator. It also supplies the automatic overdrive switch in the shift lever. I have an 08 model with an automatic and it did NOT come with any harness for ambient lighting. For my simple add-on LED ambient lighting install, I simply tied into the PRND321 illumination wire connector which is a small with two pins blue 12v+ and black ground wire.
