I am thinking about replacing the subs in the doors with other subs and take the covers off and just have the subs there, like some that are silver or something so they look good. Can you just unhook the wires from the subs that are already in the door and hook the new subs up to the wiring? Example would be like the ones in this link http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/show...4/SEMA-100.jpg

Hmmm...as far as the wiring, maybe. It depends on how much the head unit is really pushing (since 500, if that's the wattage, is going to the entire system, it's hard to tell how much the subs are pushing). As far as ease of install...not just drop in. For mine they had to do fiberglass work to allow for a larger magnet (the ones in the Shaker 500 are about the size of a silver dollar). For pics of the install, check my new topic here.

The exposed speaker looks sweet on the Saleen but then ya gotta mess with an acrylic cover or something to keep the speaker from being torn....be nice when someone offers a nice speaker replacement package to help dress that area up. I think the covers on the door speakers from the factory look terrible.....stuck with them for now i guess....
