Steeda Pedals
#3
I was able to get mine installed with a little bit of work. Just remove the rubber cover on the clutch and brake pedal, mark the holes with a screwdriver or something that will scratch the metal a bit. After that you need to tap the pedals so your drill bit has a spot where it wont wander, then drill your holes. The gas pedal is easy, its plastic.

It's been raining every weekend since I first attempted to install these.
I got the Gas pedal on easy. You just have to bend it a little ot match the curve in the existing pedal.
I broke my drill bit and a screw doing the other two. I just got a new 9/64th drill bit, but it's raining and my car goes in the shop for some body work.

I just installed mine too and they are a PITA..gas pedal is easy though.take off the rubber cover on each and line up the pedal holes on the steeda pedals to the actual pedal itself and use a sharpie pin to mark the holes to be drilled. Then get a carbide tipped drill bit "slightly larger" than the screws the kit comes with and drill out the holes. It is hard to get the holes started and because of the angle in which you are doing it they may not be perfectly straight, which is why I suggest a little bigger drill bit.Take your time and they will come out ok..Mine look good, but I would not want to do it again

Tough times. That stinks you guys are unhappy with the pedals. Thanks for letting us know your feedback. You've probably saved some people the same grief. Good looking out.

yes, you remove the existing rubber covers on the pedals and then drill through the metal to install the steeda ones..Sounds easy, but IMO it really wasn't...But, i am happy with the way they turned out

Just received mine. The dead pedal is a JOKE. Don't be fooled, it is 5 inches long and only two inches wide, and sticks like a sore thumb (when looking at the instructions) when installed. Another thread mentioned some from UPR which look great and would seem to be easier to install. I'm returning the Steedas.

Got mine on ok but the dead pedal sux I don't like the bracket deal that comes with it, but I have an idea on how to get around it that I'm working on. Heres a pic of the rest installed, wasn't that bad of a job just need to take you time with the drill.

My solution to use the dead pedal in the Steeda kit without that darn awful bracket was to place the dead pedal on the floor in the postion you want and drill your 4 holes right through the carpet and into the hard foam block that acts as the factory dead pedal. I then inserted 4 plastic expanding plugs through the carpet and into the factory foam, placed the Steeda pedal on the floor an ran my screws into the expanding plugs. Works great, it lays nice and feels very firmly held in place. Now I can throw away that clunky ugly bracket that came with the kit.

Not trying to hijack this thread or anything, but if you all are unhappy with one size fits all , you may want to give ultimate pedals a try. They custom make the pedals to the way you want them. Here is a sample of most recent orders made. Mine have the pony in all the pedals, but havent had time to put them on yet. I also ordered flange dead pedal, wider brake pedal, etc. You can pretty much modify any pedal, and get engravings on all. good luck
