Sound deadening and exhaust
Has anyone put dynamat or any sound deadening stuff in their car and how has it affected the in car noise -specifically the exhaust noise? I really want to run high flow cats or an off road pipe just to get that sound I want, but I don't necessarily want the trumpeting and all the noise and I still want to be able to have a conversation in my car. What do you guys think?

An unusual question, in that why do you want louder exhaust but don't want to hear it? I feel the same in one way, that I like a quiet interior, so would like to hear from anyone how the dynamat worked for you. Where is the best place to install it for maximum sound proffing? Other posts have put it everywhere, like doors, trunk, firewall, floors. Any less labor intensive installations?

I have done 2 of my Mustangs with Dynamat. The 2003 I did everywhere. The 2006 I did the trunk and doors. The 05+ Mustangs really benefit from doing the trunk and doors, the places that need it the most. It's fairly easy to do these places as well, Shaker 100 makes the trunk more difficult.
It took me 9 sheets to do the trunk and door completely, and they happen sell a 9 pack box of it. Just buy it on-line or else it's expensive! I got the 9 pack for around $120 last year, looks like its gone up a bit.
Easy to do and worth it. I did it when I upgraded my Shaker 1000 to stop the car from rattling to death!

If you really want to get hardcore about it check this site out.

Ive used their damplifier, which is awesome. Its just like dynamat, but a little cheaper and thicker. Then they have this stuff caledLuxury liner and Over kill. You can put it on top of the dynamat/damplifier for like a three tier layer system to really quiet the interior. Ive never used the second 2 but Ive heard it really keeps sound out.

made a big difference in the way my stereo sounds also much better more base.
I plan on doing my floor and front fenders at some point but the floors first.

I just did mine a few months back.
In progess:
It's made a very noticable difference in reducing all forms of noise. I had to spend quite some time retweaking my stereo, because it suddenly sounded grating and harsh (since it had been adjusted to cut through the background chaos).
Overall quite happy I spent the time.

I did RAAMmat in the seat area and part of the trunk recently https://themustangsource.com/f692/bl...terior-509612/ and it's made a good improvement in the interior sound level - the resonant drone has been reduced a bit and the flowmaster 40's still roar when I stomp on it.
My audio system is in progress, I'm waiting on a new headunit and speakers so I can't speak for how the sound system changes.

I've done the trunk and Doors in mine.Really helps with vibrations, especially from the aftermarket 8s I put in the doors. Need to get on the front. How long did it take you to gut everything out of the front?

This:
To this:
I got the ACC with the mass backing, which was another plus to the noise reduction. Factory carpets in these cars are like kleenex...
