Black seats with Charcol Gray Interior?
After almost 8 years since my Mustang's build date, my gray OEM "leather" seats are starting to look pretty worn in. I'm thinking of putting black seats in, for a two tone look. Does anyone have pictures of a setup like this? I'm not looking to go the crazy full color conversion route, but at least I want to get some better looking seats that don't show grime as badly.
Also unsure of what material to go with. If I'm going through the trouble to change it out, I want to pick something that will last. The mostly vinyl OEM seats don't age well, my wife's 2006 Alitma (with more miles than my car) came with legit black leather seats and they still look great whereas mine have unsightly creases that have formed all over.
Thoughts? Pics of similar setups?

I would do the seats, the carpet, and the center console, but NOT the uprights, in black/dark charcoal. I think that would turn out really nice. Don't forget the hardware on the bottom of the seats too, you might wanna Marhyde them to black. Assuming you just recover the ones you have.
I don't have a pic... I just have imagination and 'see' how it'll look. And I say it'll look
As far as seat material, Katskins, I understand, is the way to go. Others may have different opinions, but I'm going to get new Skins for Awesome when it's time.

Cool, thanks for the input, I can visualize that and that would be pretty slick. Before I do anything I'll try photoshopping it to get an idea. When I looked into takeoffs for leather, it looks like nobody has the 05-09's anymore so if I wanted to go that route, it's from a '10+ and I'd need a rear seat assembly to fit the different sized headrest. Do you think a stain would work on the center console as well or is it too textured?
What's the ballpark cost for katzskins if you do the install yourself? It looked like the installed price on their site estimated $1500-2k

I have grey with black seats and carpet, Will take some pics and post for you. I also have a full grey GT leather set in near new condition if interested, was going to put in mine when the black became available.

The takeoffs look really good - I think I'm going to buy a set of the 2011's from ninosport (http://www.ninosport.com/New-Take-Of...12140-11aa.htm) and either modify the back seat or get a new rear assembly. For the rest of it I think I'll go with what houtex suggested, doing it in stages, seat hardware dye first, then carpet and center console - still want to see a pic of that though

not positive, but i think the 11 rear seat just has a small bump up that guys have been adding a bit of foam under the seat cover at the top, and the 2 holes for the headrest that guys have been plugging with a couple big head push pins, into a washer or spacer under the cover. pretty sure the buckets fit ok. the newer covers are real nice too.

It was actually Roush that had them , the price depended on how the bidding went. The ones I got were for a convertible , I only wanted to replace the front seats so I didn't care about the back seats , and no body else bid on them so I got them cheap. Another set I bid on for the coupe went for around $350 , still a lot cheaper that what Roush had them listed for at their regular web store ...

Just ordered 2011 takeoff covers from lcfordparts. I figure I better get them before they change over to 2012+ where the front seat is different too. I hear good things about the seller from other forums.

Seats are in and they look great. I'm dying the carpet to see if I can get by without buying a new one and putting in RAAMmat and Ensolite down while they are out.
Floor mats are dyed and they came out well. The gray color remained in the stitching

While I had the floors out I installed 1x RAAMmat BXT and 3x Ensolite (peel and stick). After driving a week with the carpets out I was surprised to find how much heat, vibration, and noise come from the transmission area so I made sure to cover that especially well. There was enough to fully do the front and back seats, but I need to get more to do the doors, and trunk.

Here's the interior all finished up. I need to do a little touch up on the seat hardware but other than that it's good to go.
The drone from the Flowmaster 40's has been deadened a good deal with the RAMmat and I still get plenty of volume when I stomp on it so it's a big improvement as a daily driver.

I also did the RAAMAT and ensolite route, floors all the way to trunk and doors/quarters. Huge improvement I can really hear the exhaust and road noise is seriously decreased. KCStang has sourced more dark charcoal interior parts too, got the replacement seat panels(lower sides) door threshold with satin MUSTANG on them and next up is the center console and stack. Yours looks really good, it was a pain in the *** job huh :-)
