Sirius Starmate radio
I have the Starmate R, it is perfect!, I was looking for a place to mount it, and had it sitting in the little pencil tray in front of the shifter, it fits so good there I just decided to leave it.
I plugged it into the console power port and tucked the wires under the lower edge of the console up towards the unit, then ran the antenna wire under the dash, up the left side of the dash, and put the antenna in the left front corner of the windsheild on a little peice of black non-skid rubber.
if I could figure out how to post a pic here I would for ya

I will send you a pic, thanx
the a/c and window heat controls are still easy to get to, the unit sits there very nicely and can be nudged out of the way to push the buttons, I have no problems with it at all

Thanks for the pics. Interesting how your have your antenna on the inside of the car. You don't have any reception issues with it being on the inside? I think I'd mount it in the back window out of sight between the 2 speakers.

no problem with reception inside the car, when I get some extra time I am going to move it to the back shelf though, there is plenty of antenna cable to do that.
We have been on several road trips up and down the west coast with Sirius, its so nice to have good tunes and comedy out in the middle of no-where land!
we have three units, car home and a boom box at work to listen to, broadcast radio has been so bad anymore...its a welcome relief I tell ya!
btw dustin, thanx for puttin' up the pics

Pull the molding off the bottom of the passenger door sill where your MUSTANG plate sits, the whole piece just pops out. Gently lift and it pops out easy. Run the cable from the back of the car to the front with the rest of the wires under there. I'm not sure how to take the whole interior back side panel out, so maybe you could run it through the back seat and just tuck the cable under the panel to the door. Run it up by the fuse box, then behind the glove box, through the front console to where you have it now.
To power it, go to a car parts store and buy a mini fuse "add-a-line" to tap into a circuit in your fuse box to power it. You can tie it into something that only goes on when the car is on, that way you don't have to turn the unit off all the time. Take the cigarette connector off the cable and tie the positive end to the add-a-line, and tie the negative end to a screw on the body, anywhere will do. On the add-a-line, just use whatever fuse rating is inside the cigarette connector, shouldn't be more than 2 amps. If you do all this you can free up your power port and have the car shut the unit off for you.

good info, thanx....now to find some free time lol
I also have a comp/temp auto dimming mirror to install, I will tap that into the fuse box the same way you described
btw, where do you get the shorty antenna?, I have seen them and like the looks

I made it myself. You can click on all my mods, they are linked to pictures.

Use a wrench to carefully take your antenna off. I recommend using an adjustable wrench with a rag in the jaws. Cut it down 12". Then put the closed end of a very small wrench over the open part. Then grab the back side with a vise and bang the wrench against the ball, popping it off. The ball will go flying so I could put a bag over it before you bang it with your hammer (hee hee). Then press the ball back on the longer part. If you dinged it up, just touch it up with flat black spray paint or whatever.
