Sirius code transfer from OEM to Avic F90

Tried searching for threads on getting the sirius account code off the original factory Shaker 500 but no luck. Have a new Pioneer head unit to install, and would like to get the 6mo free service before I have to sign up.

Anybody have any idea how to do this? I tried searching through the menu options on the Shaker but couldn't find anything. Haven't found/identified the Sirius unit in the car yet, though (where is it, anyhow?)

Thanks for any help.

The Sirius receiver is in the trunk, behind the panel on the passenger side. You should be able to pull the code off that. There is a tag on the back.

By the way, Once you have that out and the wiring, let me know if you are interested in selling it.

Is it behind the carpet on the right side?

It is behind the "carpeted" side panel. Pull up the spare tire cover/carpet to get it out of the way, pull the push pins out of the panel and the receiver will be mounted to brackets on the side of the passenger side of the car.

Perfect! Thanks for the help. Have a separate pioneer and sirius controller now, so definitely be interested in selling the stock one.

Here is the procedure to get the Sirius receiver code, no need to disassemble anything...but I believe the free six months is for the Factory-Installed unit. But it does not hurt to give it a try...

Got it on Ebay from seller scala1 for $629, if I remember right. Also got the SquareTrade Warranty for $65 or so. I bought the Metra (I think) harness plug ins on Ebay as well, looked up the part number on Crutchfield and confirmed on Metra's site. I got the F90 cause I wanted the high voltage preamps, using a MB Quart 4.1 and separate 2 channel amp.

Thanks! Still time to pull that off before the final install. Soldering everything last night, hopefully tomorrow get most of it done. And from what I've read I can use the factory sirius antenna instead of the new one, we'll see...

If any of you know (asked member Infinity in a PM as well), I've directly soldered the 12V battery and accessory connections from the metra adapter to the pioneer adapter, along with the speed connection (all separate wires/solders, of course). All the 12V to 5V regulator stuff for the amp switch on is only for the factory amps, not for my aftermarket separate amps and HU, correct? I should be all set if I'm not using any of the factory equipment? I saw in 5.0 & MMFF or whatever magazine two months ago about not being able to get a switched accessory connection from the factory harness and having to use a mini add-a-fuse from the fuse panel for the switch, but I don't understand if I actually need to do that or not. i'm thinking not?

I also did the navigation/DVD bypass on the Pioneer harness from the Avic411 website, so hopefully all will go well. Just a bit nervous plugging it all in.

Thanks for the help!
