Shortened shift boot with Hurst stick

I am about to install a Pro5.0 shifter with a chrome Hurst stick and am more than likely going to upgrade to a Redline boot. So was curious if anyone else with a Hurst shifter/stick has done this and if so, did you go with a shorter boot? And if you did, how much shorter?

I have the Pro 5.0 and a Roush stick and **** and am running the stock boot. I wouldn't go too much shorter than stock though, I think that stock fits pretty good.

Same setup as you and have the stick on the shortest holes. After you put the stock boot back on you are right at the bottom of where it says Hurst on the handle.

Rich, which trim ring do you have?? Yours looks like this one, but it gives me heartburn considering the $150 price tag!

I have the hurst shifter with the OEM Bullitt boot and bezel assy, it does not require the boot adapter grommet that came with your shifter, the boot fits tight around the shift lever.

Cool. I just might have to make that investment as not having the rubber grommet along with the bezel does look sharp!
