Single hoop roll bar installed
I got my single hoop roll bar installed today. I ordered it from these good folks
http://www.ultimateautosports.com/
Matt is super to work with. I ordered it in plain steel (you can have it custom painted from them for a few bucks more).
I primed it and painted it with Krylon paint. I chose the black hammered finish to match some of the black in the interior. Dodging rain and 80% humidity, the paint job came out well.
I did the install and here is the product.
Behind the driver side
Attachment 31469
Behind the passenger side upper mount
Attachment 31470
Roof line
Attachment 31471
Looking into the drivers side
Attachment 31472
No it is not a "real" roll bar, NHRA and so forth, but it keeps with my theme of a retro 1967ish GT 350
Thanks again to Matt
The install went as instructions said it would.

Bar looks great. What rear seat delete are you using, I really like how it flows with the everything.

Guys, I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but please understand the following... (I'm saying this as a racer and friend, not as a businessman)
ANY CAR THAT HAS A ROLLBAR IN IT SHOULD HAVE OCCUPANTS WEARING HELMETS.
I do have a 4 point bar in my 73, and I don't follow the rule either when driving it, but I just want you to know that it would not be pretty in an accident if your melon whacks that tube... that is all.
Other than that, while not very functional, it does look nice and appears to fit well within the confines of the interior. I'm glad you like it

I appreciate your concern. That is a possiblity, but we drive crown vics with single hoop roll bars to support our cages. For me that roll bar saved my butt in a side impact. I know you should pad it and I may do that, good point, cause ours are padded as well. never thought about it.

Summit has some pads or you can just buy the padding for insulating pipes, i am definately going to go with this mod, and i would not mind it in that black, even if it means i have to pay a little more. or if push comes to shove then i will paint it myself

Yep, but it was the only one that I could get in my matching colors. If ya wanna play, ya gotta pay. Any you are right, it was too much.

Do NOT use heater tubing, etc.. for padding. Even the low-cost stuff Summit sells is not what you want protecting your head in case of an impact. While I can appreciate the energy-absorbtion of the tube in an accident, remember that it will not give when struck with your head.
There are specially made impact-absorbing pads for "critical" areas of a rollcage. Any of the reputable race shops (or us, we can special order it for you) can get the proper padding that while incredibly firm, will deform properly in a hard accident and help protect your noggin from going pop...
I use it, have had my bell rung a couple times even with the helmet on using cheaper padding and learned a hard lesson.
HTH.

Yeah
Just trying to keep everyone else from having that strange dimple on the side of their skulls.... (just kidding, no dimples here, but you could if you're not careful with this...)

I appreciate you point, but we all have ideas of what we feel is cool. I like it, yea it could be padded and it may be. But it is up to everyone of us to make our ideas work for us. In the end I like it.
