Shaker Head Unit Removal?
#1
Does anyone know how to remove the stock head unit (Shaker 500 or 1000) in order to install and aftermarket head unit (Sony, Kenwood, Alpine & etc.)?
If yes, can someone please post a few step-by-step instructions and/or photos of how to get the bezel off safely and easily?

1) Open the center console. Remove the two phillips head screws at the back of the console opening ( on top ).
2)Pull emergency brake all the way up.
3)Lift the console cover up, pull back, and work over brake handle
4)Remove screw on each side of lower center console that was covered up by the center console cover you just removed. These screws will be where the two consoles meet.
5)Remove side cover from each side. They just pop off.
6)Remove 6 bolts holding on faceplate. Unplug airbag, power port, and flashers. Unplug fan and climate control plugs. Remove face plate.
7)Remove 4 bolts holding radio in place.
Turn the directions upside down to put it all back together
I have the Ford documents in PDF format on removing the console, console face plate, and radio if you want to shoot me a PM with your email addy I will send them to ya. But it is pretty straight forward.
