Does anyone know how to stop this annoyance from occuring every 2 minutes. I know the logic way is to put your seatbelt on, but for those some occasions I would rather not have it on or have it on but without the noise. Does anyone know how to stop this from chiming every 2 minutes?? I really don't care if it flashes but that noise has got to go :bang: !!

Its in the manual. Very easy to disable. You have to do the drivers and the passengers side seperately though. I was done with mine within 15 minutes.

Good luck.

All you have to do buckle and unbuckle.

One time disable
If at any time the driver/front passenger quickly buckles then unbuckles
the BeltMinder feature for that seating position, the BeltMinder is
disabled for the current ignition cycle. The BeltMinder feature will
re-enable during the same ignition cycle if the occupant buckles and
remains buckled for approximately 30 seconds. Confirmation is not given
for the one time disable.

Deactivating/activating the BeltMinder feature
The driver and front passenger BeltMinder are
deactivated/activated independently. When deactivating/activating
one seating position, do not buckle the other position as this will
terminate the process.
Read Steps 1 - 4 thoroughly before proceeding with the
deactivation/activation programming procedure.
Note: The driver and front passenger BeltMinder features must be
disabled/enabled separately. Both cannot be disable/enabled during the
same key cycle.

The driver and front passenger BeltMinder features can be
deactivated/activated by performing the following procedure:
Before following the procedure, make sure that:
• The parking brake is set
• The gearshift is in P (Park) (automatic transmission)
• The ignition switch is in the OFF position
• The driver and front passenger safety belts are unbuckled
To reduce the risk of injury, do not deactivate/activate the
BeltMinder feature while driving the vehicle.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN (or ON) position. (DO NOT
START THE ENGINE)
2. Wait until the safety belt warning light turns off. (Approximately 1
minute)
• Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt
warning light turns off.
3. For the seating position being disabled, at a moderate speed, buckle
then unbuckle the safety belt 9 times, ending in the unbuckled state.
(Step 3 must be completed within 50 seconds after the safety belt
warning light turns off.)
• After Step 3, the restraint system warning light (airbag light) will be
turned on for three seconds.
4. Within 10 seconds of the light turning on, at a moderate speed, buckle
then unbuckle the safety belt.
• This will disable the BeltMinder feature for that seating position if it
is currently enabled. As confirmation, the restraint system warning
light will flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds.
• This will enable the BeltMinder feature for that seating position if it
is currently disabled. As confirmation, the restraint system warning
light will flash 4 times per second for 3 seconds, followed by 3
seconds with the light off, then followed by the restraint system
warning light flashing 4 times per second for 3 seconds again.

OK, please, let's not start this into a thread of lectures. The instructions on how to disable it are in your owners manual.

Edit, wow some of you type fast...

Please just lock it now before this gets out of hand, and then I have to go on a rant about wearing a seat belt. (Just read a story in the paper today about a 21 year old women who was thrown from her car after loosing control on a wet road, then hit a pole. Her body wasn't found untill the next day.)

Look, I didn't mean to cause such controversy, I was just wondering for the noise. Not saying I don't wear my seatbelt. Calm down to the specific few.

LOL People go a little overboard, dont they?...

Good luck with deactvating that annoying seat belt chime. It drove me insane. Now I can make my choice of wearing the seat belt or not.

I take mine off at the ATM, cause I'm short and cannot reach the buttons. Or at the drive thru window.

Exactly, couldn't have said it better myself. Some people choose to wear it all the time and some people do not wear it all the time.
