Johnny, I'm having weird modem problems. I can only use the 'fast reply,' I can't search, add a new thread, or anything like that. I'll find that thread for you once it gets fixed.

Does anyone know if the Stang has one of those "little black boxes?" AKA: EDR, Event Data Recorders?

anyone actually read how to disable it. i almost thought they were joking. 9 TIMES???? jesus. why cant i just pull a fuse or flip a switch. i like simplicity haha
I know why you have to do it 9 times. Well you know how a cat has 9 lives? When you in the stang you have 9 lives as well when it comes to not getting in an accident. By doing it 9 times you get rid of each life. LOL I disabled it as well. Its just got on my last nerve.

I'm going to break out the book and try it today. As far as a black box I hear yes.

I agree!!! Next thing ya know you'll have to ask your car if it wants to go for a drive today???
Well, if we keep calling our cars "She", Im sure "She" will want to be asked sooner or later if she wants to go for a ride!

I went to page 92-93 and couldnt find how to disable the beeping noise. In fact, I searched though a lot of the operator's manual. IS there any chance someone who has disabled it can write the directions in this post or even perhaps give me the right page in the 2006 op. manual on how to disable it? THanks in advance

Disabling for each engine cycle, not the life of the battery...

After you start the car, plug your belt in, hold for one second and take it out... Each engine cycle [each time you start the car] it will stop the beeping...

If you have passengers all of you must do this and all must be plugged in together at the same time for one second then remove and for that cycle you will not get beeps...

NOTE: I do not encourage you to ride without a belt, but you asked how to do it... Obligatory safety/liability remark, on the other hand I am not your maker so I have no right to judge... heck, if I were to judge people on what they do to and in their cars, I would be here all day

So this is how you can do it and not totally disable the safety unit...

The manual will teach you how to totally disable it for the life of the battery...
