Satellite Radio Tuner- How did you mount

your add on tuners? Not the the whole upgrade or shaker replacements, just the little ones that plug into AUX. I ordered a Roady XT from Amazon ($29.00 - $20.00 rebate plus shipping) that arrives next week.

Thx

My dad took an old ashtray out of my old SN-95 to mount my Roady to it. So, it just fit into the cupholder bezel of any vehicle. It was truely a nicely fabricated piece.

I am about to mount a Sirius One in the car, and I am thinking about mounting it on the underside of the dash. But, that is a different display unit, that looks like a radar detector.

Mounting XM Roady XT

Mine is mounted between the air vents using a universal tilt mount. The antenna is in the right corner of the dash on the passenger side (just tucked in next to the window. Since the Roady XT is non remote control this mounting provides easy reach for the buttons. Also, I did not have much luck with the PIE adapter. No matter how my installer filtered and adjusted there was a slight hiss. Ended up using a good FM modulator and the sound is clean.

I have a rental at the moment and here is where Hertz put theirs. They have a bracket mounted under the dash.

Tucsondivits - So the antenna wire runs over the A/C vent and out the top of the dash to the right corner?
I didn't realize you can't use a remote with it. I take you don't have an 07 w/ the AUX audio port? How do you get 12V power to it?
PS- I don't you know if you came to the golf tourney last weekend but, that's where I live.

Doug - I read your thread where your car got crashed for you. I say, make them buy you a new one! Anyway, thx for the pics you posted may help me later.

Thanks for eveyone's response!

Well, I've since replaced mine with an aftermarket head unit, but this is how I handled it when I had the Roady installed....

Mine was hard wired by Audio Specialists. I am not sure how they hooked it up to the Shaker 500 for power. The antenna wiring is hidden and comes out at the right corner at the windshield -- the only thing visible is the antenna. I have an 05 V6 so, unfortunately no AUX adapter. I did go out on Wednesday to the Gallery -- I have played the North Course but not the South. It was in awesome condition.

Posted this one quite some time back and still using this installation. Mounted it over the rear view mirror and hid all wires.

The only reason I'd change this is if I find the $$$ to get the OEM Nav with SIRIUS upgrade.. that would be, sweeeeeeeeeeet....

Did some new pics yesterday. Here's mine...it's located on the underside of the dash, using the factory bolt. That white thing in the first pic is actually a factory metal bracket from the console that reflected off my flash

A little velcro was all I needed.....this is where I set my sirius unit until I decide to go with a new HU. I still have to hard wire the power supply byt I did my best to hide it for now.

I placed it in the middle between the two vents above the stereo on the dash... used 3m Tape and ran the wires under the console panel... plugs into the cig lighter in the console and then the xm ant. ran it through the rear alined it with everything. not really noticeable.
