here ya go

I happen to be in the same situation as you. This is what i'm planning to do. I've already bought the frd-04 aux from precision electronics for $90 , a rca to 3.5mm cable $10 the starmate $70. By using the frd-04 you will be able to use the aux button on the factory stereo. You can also use the same rca to 3.5mm cable and switch between your starmate and ipod/mp3 player. Additionally I've found Soundgate.com sells Part # AUX3 $61.95 which acts as an a/b switch allowing you to have your starmate and mp3 hooked up together.

well from what i have seen Ford is going to be adding Sirius as an option for 2007 and i think it is going to use the AUX...now the question is....is the kit they are using for the factory option the same as the ones we are buying because i went to an audio shop down here and they were charging me $160 for hardwire and AUX install and i am trying to save my money for an Ice underglow kit...so now to see if what you are trying works and what news ford puts out

Well I'm probably going to go get it installed today or sometime this week. I'll let you know how it goes once I do and probably post a few pics. Have you thought about were your going to mount your starmate? I think i might do mount mine in front of the courtesy lights.

I finally "permanently" installed my Starmate yesterday. I used the plastic bracket from a car kit and drilled two holes in the overhad console, so it's face mounted up there and seems pretty secure. I have the Nissan SIGMA antenna and the only thing I didn't finish was the power wiring.

Someone had posted on here which of the power wires in the overhead works best for the tap [a lost post], and I didn't get a fuse holder until it was too hot to keep working on it.

So is it the grey striped wire? Who knows?

I took a couple of pics as I went along, but the chip is still in the camera. If anyone wants to see them I can post them.

I did NOT buy the PIE adapter because too many people are still having problems with them.

that is exactly what you need

if you want to hardwire the power to it...MAKE SURE THAT YOUR LIGHTER ADAPTER IS NOT A STEP DOWN ADAPTER then you can go to radio shack and find the cigarette lighter adapters....then they come with a free adapter end...take the radio with you inside

i tapped my power into the fuse box for the "accessory Delay" fuse...hence...whenever the radio goes off my SIRIUS goes off

I got it at a Nissan dealer, but you might be able to find it online cheaper. The plug isn't perfect though: You have to cut off a plastic snap connector as it is made for a Clarion reciever. I did not know that, and if I could bring myself to do it, I would take the think apart and put the wire from my magnet mount on it. But naturally the case is glued together in addition to being screwed. I will find a pic of it and take one of it in the car tomorrow.

Ok, I lied about the "tomorrow" pictures. It will happen though... I picked up an inline fuse and a pack of wire eyelets to tuck the power up into the overhead.

Does anyone have a copy of the post someone had showing which wire up there works best for power?

And the I will attach a little pic of the Nissan here, which really doesn't show how well it fits in the car: I didn't even stick it to the windshield and it doesn't move as it is held up there by the rearview mirror stem.

Still looking for old post with which wire to tap into for power in the overheard

I keep hoping I can find this old post which had some pictures of which wire to splice into for power for my Sirius. The reciever and SIGMA are installed, but I haven't done the power yet...

Anyone have a copy of that old post?
