Hey all!!! I currently have my Sirius satellite radio mounted in my 2005 F150. I am trading in the car next week to get the 2006 Mustang and was wondering where you guys mounted the radio. I have heard a few people mention that they use a panavise bracket near the radio. I have the Audiovox PNP3, which looks like the Sportster receiver. Pictures would be a plus!!
Thanks!

I have a Sirius Starmate R [the rectangular one with the round shape on the right side and blue display] and I can't figure any good spot for it. The thing is so bright [only the actual display dims, not the buttons] that mounting it flat anywhere near the radio or center console will be distracting to me during night driving.
I've got it wedged above the passenger visor [where it stays quite well, surprisingly] so that it faces directly back. So if I want to look at it I actually have to turn it toward me. A REAL pain, and not something I do while driving. The wires are loose until I figure out the permanent home and the antenna is simply laying on the dash in the corner. It operates perfectly there, except for sliding around on left turns or "brisk" acceleration. <chuckle>.
I think a "flip up" mount on the rear face of the overhead or below the edge of the dash on the passenger side might work better, where I could flip it up and it would be more "out of sight" most of the time. I'haven't figured it out yet.
Oh yeah, when I laid it flat and pushed the visor up tight, it got so hot I was afraid it might ruin the visor! Those little cooling slots are really needed. <chuckle>
I'd love to know if anyone got one of these wired in to the "aux" on the Shaker? I live in the LA area and hardly any frequency is "not in use"...

Did mine inside the glove box, out of the way and inconspicuious. All the wires are hidden, only way you know it's there is the antenna mounted centerline back on the roof. It's even painted body color so it blends in

Nice install Canes! Did you use the stock mounting bracket? Also, can you explain where you routed the power/antenna cabling? Where is the molding next to the stack?
Thanks in advance!

I ran the antenna wire between the driver side back seat and the plastic molding and then under the door sill molding. The power cord is comming out of the center console power outlet. After I routed everything under the dash I gently pulled on the plastic molding to the left of the stereo. The wires come out of the top of the piece of molding and it gets poped back in place. you can see where the wires come out in the first pic.
If enough people show intrest I'll do a step by step w/ pics. (hate to have to take it all appart to do over again.

hey any of u sirius people, dont mount ur antenna on the outside of ur car, its ugly. u need one of these interior glass mount antennas. i have had one in my mustang since i got it. it works perfectly, much better than the one that comes with the reciever mounted in the back window. i have it mounted on the glass above the rearview, where the black dot-matrix pattern is. it gets perfect reception. i can take pix if anyone wants. this antenna is used by nissan, it comes from the factory for cars with sirius. there is a small plastic thing that comes on the connecter, u simply pop it off and plug it into the tuner base.i highly recommend it, this is the best place to get it from...

Here's a some shots of my antenna.
Not a black lump for all to see. The wire is run in the rain trough along the back window, then under the black moulding along passenger side, down a pillar, behind footwell panel , and into the glove box.

I had my SIRIUS sportster mounted in the GloveBox as well, except the other corner slightly angles towards me, also, my antannae is on the passenger side dash by the corner of the window---looks, sounds great----also utilized the PIE adapter for the AUX button as FM modulation sucks. Usedthe ipod adapter RCA cables and can swap it to my nano!

I mounted my Roady XT to the right of the radio. Good access to driver and passenger. Already addicted to XM after 1 week. Wiil post pics if interested. On a related note, has anyone seen this yet? Pretty slick if it will work on our Mustangs.

I had the same issue exactly...
I ended up buying the new car adapter for my sportster that suction cups to the windshield. I don't know if your model of radio has a similar adapter, but I also found universal suction cup adapters at Circuit City. I will post pictures if you're interested.

I don't like the look of it on the dash, so, I keep mine in the rear cup holder. I have an XM MiFi, so, the harnass lives in the cupholder and then I slide in the MiFi to use it. Oddly enough, the MiFi fits flush on the top of the cup holders so I can still shift (manual).
