I'm sick and tired of fighting with this Shaker1000 ( 4th one so far ) and considering a replacement. But, I do not want to go with a single din setup. I am looking at the Kenwood DDX7015 head unit. Anyone installed one of these in your 05 yet? Curious about the fit.
Also, anyone know of a source to get the factory harness plug from? Yes, I know the stock amps are junk. But considering the price of the Kenwood, plus the fact that I will most likely go with the navigation system also, replacing the amps is going to be down the road. So is using an aftermarket head unit witht he existing amps and wiring a possibility? Or should I plan on a complete new wire job?

As far as double din is concerned, you'll have no fit issues...the Mustang DIN is way bigger than a double. Search a little bit...I know someone on here installed one of those.

I don't know about the harness...good luck!

have a look at the new Pioneer AVIC D1 - it's a double din nav with realtime satellite-fed traffic overlaid on the maps.

$1100-1400 or thereabouts depending on dealer. Crutchfield now has a page up on the unit for your perusal.

Cheers

Kenwood Rocks...owned many and never a prob. Currently have a single din in the Stang but your choice will work and if you order from Cruthfield you get the wiring harness and everything you need to do the job yourself..As with wiring harness...you will lose the woofer, or at least I did, but I'm running aftermarkets. Rumor is that a harness exists that will allow you to use you woofer..I have not seen it.
