Questions about cutting down door rattle

I'm currently running the Shaker 500 system hooked up to a AVIC-D1. While it isn't idea it gets the job done for me. The problem with the system though is I get a lot of rattles in the door. Pressing hard on the door or for some on the painted mirror inserts helps reduce the rattle. I was looking at getting the Second Skin audio Damplifier. Will the base product be enough or should I go with the Pro? They offer door kits but will that be enough for our doors are do I need to get more? Thanks!

Thanks! I had read this a while ago and they rated Second Skin the best. I just want to make sure I buy the right amount of material and don't have to do this more then once.

Mike, I put about 8 sq ft of Damp Pro in each door. That made the speakers sound a lot better. As for the rattles, you might want to get a roll of the Overkill and place it in different areas until you get rid of the rattles. One rattle I had was in the window switches. I took it apart and placed some padding around the switch and cured that one.

I've found that my driver's side power window control panel vibrates at high volume. I'm going to isolate it with some foam, and also see if I can tighten up the fit a bit too.

The biggest "rattler" for me was the little panel behind the "pull" handle on the door. I put a piece of mat on the back of it, and then some rope caulk under the mounting tabs (it'll makes sense when you pull it out). This presses it in tight and kills the rattle.

Infinity: Was it difficult to remove the door trim panel?

No, quite easily done. A few 7mm screws and 2 T30's and it's off. The T30's are TIGHT.

The only trouble I had was trying to get those little panels behind the pull handles out for the first time. I still havn't put them back in yet because I'm deciding if I want the mole skin and window tint.

A 1-1.5" semi-flexible putty knife is the tool of choice here. That way you can get behind the little panel and pry without taking out a divot like a screwdriver would.
