PIE FRD04-AUX Adaptor crapped out
Anyone else have this happen? Everything working perfectly one day, the next day, after hitting the "aux" button the display reads "NO AUX AUDIO?"
I'm not real crazy about dropping more dough on this. Am I alone on this one?

maybe one of the wires came loose. maybe it came loose from the ground wire or the 12V wire.
that happened to me with the one i bought from crutchfield. I've never done much wiring in cars so I guess this was my first time doing the wiring. and I hooked it up and I thought I had a good enough ground. drove it to the store one day the PIE was working fine, came back in the car and it didnt work, got home, took apart the console and the ground wire came off, so I relocated the ground wire to the center console head unit holding bracket which was PURE metal, wrenched it to a bolt and bam i was back in business. been trouble free for about a week and half now
If it was wired to a contant 12v source you may just need to disconnect the battery for a minute to reset the PIE. I wired mine to a switched source so when this happens I just have to turn off the ignition and when I switch it back on the PIE is good.
i had the same problem when i recently installed my K&N Intake. Since I removed the wire from the negative side of the battery terminal, it messed up the PIE adapter. I just took it back off the terminal, waited about 2 minutes and put it back on and viola!........adapter as good as new
I have one of the early PIE adapters and it used to do that about every other time I would start the '05 "No AUX Audio"...finally gave up on it and didn't use my XM with the '05....one of the nice surprises with my '07 is that it has the aux input jack - so I don't need the PIE anymore....the PIE on my '05 F-150 has always worked great - but for some reason, PIE has had many problems with the '05 adapter.......hope yours works better
This crap happens every so often with the PIE unit (unless you got the newest firmware). If you come across this again, the simple solution is to temp. remove the fuse and plug it back in. Assuming you tapped into a 12V constant (radio, cig lighter, etc).. I found this much easier than removing the - battery cable..
