Yeah I found them cheap online. Is it easy to install? Does it require any mods to the actual head unit?

No problem if you end up getting it let me know and Ill try to find the install instructions for bypassing the speed control/parking brake, so you can use all the features while you drive

Yeah I will. Thanks! Here's the new one I'm going to get. Its brand new so I can't go off any reviews. But its pioneer ,so I think it should be good. Plus I like that the aux and USB is back. I can run those wires under my console so I Dont have wires hanging around the unit.
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130X250....html?tp=20220

Then from amazon I'm getting the bypass:
Amazon.com: Parking Brake Override Bypass Fully Automatic Video in Motion for Pioneer Models AVH-X1500DVD AVH-X2500BT AVH-X3500BHS AVH-X4500BT AVH-X5500BHS: Electronics Amazon.com: Parking Brake Override Bypass Fully Automatic Video in Motion for Pioneer Models AVH-X1500DVD AVH-X2500BT AVH-X3500BHS AVH-X4500BT AVH-X5500BHS: Electronics

I think that's all I need. I've watched videos on taking out stock head unit and seems straight forward. Hopefully installing the bracket/holder for the new head unit is as straight forward.

You can extend/route the rear Aux to wherever you want inside the car. My 2006 didn't have a Factory Aux, so I'm not sure if the factory aux will plug right in or not without mods.

Where did you get that?

Bought this brand new back in '05 when I bought my first S-197 when they first came out. Transferred it to my '09 when I bought it. Nearly 8 years later, still works great!

I am 16 and my first car is a mustang. I would love to put on of these head units in my car but i have no clue how to do it. Can someone help? I dont have and aux port in my current standard radio. Can anyone give me any advice on which one of these head units to get and how to hook it up and everything?

Any suggestions on what to do to a screen that doesn't have a dimming feature nor does it have a screen off option? Kinda a PITA while driving. I have to listen to music while driving or I'd just turn it off.

Here's a couple of links , the first one is to a head unit install , all type units are pretty much the same procedure. You can get a harness from Crutchfield for what ever unit you get that mates up with our ford harness. The second link is to TacoBills how links , which the first link is part of.

On my unit, there is no button to turn the screen off, but if I press and hold the "video select" button, the screen DOES turn off. It's not in the manual. I found it by just messing around. Give that a try and maybe you will get lucky.
