So, did the subs just connect easily to the Kenwood or did you have to alter anything? Was it clear how to connect them in the instructions?

Okay - maybe not the WHOLE dash. I've had the entire center section (radio, etc) and console out, as well as the gauges and A/C vents with their respective IUP panels off. Perhaps I did see the evaporator, but I wouldn't know if I did. Sorry.

The subs plug into the rca jacks on the back of the unit, everything was pretty straight forward i'd say.
