Hello everyone!

This may have been asked before, please forgive me if it has as I am new here. Anyway, could someone out there post pictures of their XM satelite radio installations? I've got XM in my '96 Sable but have got to have it in my '05 Mustang. Hopefully there are in-dash setups available.

Cheers,
Jon

After looking for a good install location I settled on this. It works for me and it is up high and out of the sight of most prying eyes looking to steal things. I couldn't even think about drilling on the alluminum dash, it's just a......... :nono:

does it interfere with your active alarm system though? I thought the eyes were up there? Looks good though.

Nice job! I have mine laying in the center console for now because like you I was not going to drill into my dash. Did you have that done professionally or did you do it yourself? How hard was it to route the wiring through the headliner and where did you mount the antenna?

Here's another option. I didnt' want anything permanent, so here's was my hack.
I basically made something to fit into the cup holder and put the antenna on the dash. Works great

I installed it myself and ran the wires around the edges of the headliner and used the power outlet inside the console for the power supply point. The antenna is inside the car and is attached to the read deck with velcro. If you look through the back window you can see it, this car is very easy to hide wires in because of the large amount of plastic trim.

Thanks for the ideas. Did you just screw the mount to the light fixture?

Double-stick tape. Why make more holes than are necessary?

dave_bought... he doesn't have active alarm (not no sounders in the corners of the light pod).

cheers!

P.S. bummed that the wires come out of that unit on the side - it was so clean and small and I almost bought into that. Then I saw that you had to have the wires and deal was off. I'm waiting for an indash controller of some sort.
