painted interior and new window tint

Well I got brave and painted my door panels, I think they turned out o.k and I like the break in color. Also had the window's tinted last week 17% and 35%.

Honestly I'm not sure. I hope for a while.

That turned out good! I want to do the same thing, but red on the charcoal door... What kind of paint did you use? Did you remove the door panel or just tape off? Curious minds want to know...

Not saying it doesn't look good because it does. I would just be a little concerned at how well it is going to hold up.

Personally, if I were going to undertake that project I would have used some sort of dye, not paint.

For a dye to work (black to gray) wouldn't you have to bleach it first?

I removed the panels and tapped off the areas not painted, it is not that hard to remove. It doesn't seem that area takes much of a beating so I hope it will hold up with little wear. If not I'll have an excuse to try the leather inserts.

I used tremclad as that's all I could find at the time but others have used Duplicolor, not sure if it matters.

Looks good to me, like the tint. I am due for tinting next week though only the back half, here in NJ we can not tint our drivers side window so I see no reason to make the car 3/4 tinted.
