Padded driver door armrest?
Padded driver door armrest?
I have bony elbows, did a 3 hour trip this past weekend and got to the point I put a microfiber towel on the door because my elbow hurt. I do not have the premier package, does that really add padding? Any alternatives out there? I seriously might buy an elbow pad to leave in the car
shotokan, to answer your first question, yes the premier package adds the padded door arm rests and center console. oh, also the covered dashboard and the aluminum pedals too. the padding is quite comfortable.
Still not sure what I want to do because I also rest my elbow on the upper part of the door which is also rock hard. I have to rest my arm on longer trips due to a bad shoulder, I need to support it or I am sore. I don't want to just start tacking things all over my interior
I bought those pads from Moss Mustang and they work and look great. EXCEPT the cheap double-sided tape on cardboard backing quickly gave up sticking, so I pulled off the cardboard and stuck on double-sided 3M body-side moulding tape and they seem to be sticking firmly now.

I have been paying more attention, it is not so much the door armrest, but the top of the door just inside the window track. I am used to driving my trucks with my arm on the window sill, but with the high beltline of the stang it puts me top/middle of the door which is hard plastic.
I may have to do something like this, as long as it is easily removable.

I looked into the padded arm rests from Ford. Parts guy could not find a listing, unless you purchased complete door panel assembly, Anyone have a part number for just the arm rest pad?
I made my own with items from Hobby Lobby. Brought a 1/8" thick by 5" wide by 24" Basswood plank, some 1" thick poly foam, a piece of Black Doe Skin Leather , and some spray glue. Took me one night to make both sides. Apply them with double side tape. Total cost less than $20. I did use their 40% off coupons off their web site.
If you want to see how bad Moss Mustang is screwing the Mustang guys look up the arm rest for a F-150. They are twice as big but half the cost.

wonder what givesMike
the premier trim w/ color accent package is different. that is the additional package i have. it was a $395 option. pretty good deal if you ask me. i just regret not getting the power passenger seat option.
if you did pay for the premier trim w/ color accent package and don't have the upholstered dash pad, door and center arm rests, etc, then i would go to you dealer and complain.

oh, ok. so you do have the upholstered dash pad, aluminum pedals and the padded center arm rest then. lol. that is the same package as the color accent package, but like you, i have charcoal seats, so it didn't make a difference.
