New HU (Double DIN chassis or Single?)

What looks better installed an aftermarket double DIN chassis or a single? I personally have not seen any after market installed, but since the one coming out is a Double, makes sense to replace it with one as well. Thoughts? Suggestions on a decent unit both with GPS and without GPS. Don't want a DVD player.

Most of the DDIN are going to have DVD, but there are a few without. I definitely recomment the DDin unit, otherwise, you have a "pocket" that looks totally out of place and nasty....unless you do dual DIN units (like I did since I already had them. Will be swapped out for a nice single unit in the spring). Look here

Most are Japanese units that don't release in the US, but they work great with a frequency converter for the antenna/tuner (also sold there). My favorite is the Panasonic tube model- it is sweet, and sounds even better.

DD does make for a cleaner install unless you have something else to put in the pocket. Some Japenese cars have pockets from the factory with doors on them that look good, if you go witha Single you may want to look for one of those. I went with a DD for a nice factory looking install. I have a Kenwood 7017 and the DVA 3100(older Navigation) Kenwood has new hard drive based nav that you can add to it. Im very happy with it
