These aren't the best pictures, but here is the MGW Gripper on the stock shifter with Saleen adaptor...... and the Roush with rubber grippers on the Pro5.0 shifter.

Hurst Competition Plus shifter for use with the factrory **** and Hurst universal pistol grip handle.
After installing the shifter, I used the factory **** for several weeks. The action was very short, but I lost a lot of the leverage I had with the stock shifter. I decided to try the pistol grip and have been very satisfied since. Much of the leverage has been restored, the shifts are still quite short, and the lateral control (2-3, 4-5 shift) is better than I expected.

Had the MGW gripper, felt very good.
Stock **** is fine, but when that modding bug bites you.......
Instead of reposting pics of my latest ****, here's the link:

I don't know the thread pattern of the Pro 5.0, but because the Hurst handle is 'universal' it comes with about 6 or so different thread adapters. Hurst's web site should give all of the sizes. The Pro 5.0 may be taller than mine if fitted with the Hurst handle. Mine is the factory thread pattern, 12mm x 1.25 (I think) and the shaft is pretty short in height.
As for the boot, I used a combination of different size washers to simiulate the 'collar' of the stock shifter. So starting from the top of the new handle, here is what I have:
-The handle itself.
-A couple of small diameter (5/8"?) washers about 1/8" thick.
-Two large fender type washers about 1-1/4" in diameter to mimic the collar of the stock shifter.
-And the jam nut supplied with the shifter handle.
Just slip the boot up over the washers and you're all set!

How do you like it being that tall? I think I want it it that tall but I'm not sure. I don't like the **** (sorry) but I like the shifter. Did the shifter handle and the **** come together from Jegs? Can the **** be removed and replaced with say a Hurst ball?
And one more thing, do you have two different seats?

The shift handle is 8" tall overall and laid back 3" which, for me, works great.
The shift handle is a Hurst piece and comes seperate. It does not accept the stock ****. It is a 3/8 - 16 if I remember right, which is a common size.
The seats are all the same now, Dark Charcoal/Red.

Does the Hurst handle work with the stock shifter or do you have an aftermarket shifter like Pro 5.0, etc?
By the way I like the two tone seats.
