Leather wrapping the interior...

i'm stripping the car down to dynamat everything and i figured it's a good time to get the cheap plastic stuff wrapped in some leather with double red stitching, etc

problem is.. i dont' know where to start!
i figured my best bet so far is to let an upholstry shop tackle it (will send them the individual pieces) but i'm not sure if i can find anyone up to the job here.

so i'm leaning towards a DIY (in which case i would have to drop the double stitching idea).

where can i get the leather and tools to handle such job?
i figured i need glue, heat gun and a roller of sorts... what else?

any tips?

Are you planning on doing the dash? It may be easier to go to the GT500 dash. I'm interested in what you do since I've been thinking of covering the arm rests on mine.

Premiere Trim. Apparently hard to retrofit.

I believe that the premiee trim -- although softer and more supple w/stitching is still made from the skin of the nauga -- hence it is still plastic.

I just recently finished wrapping the rear panels in the same material as the IUP doors. IT was a lot of work but actually easier then I expected.

what did you use to stretch and glue the leather onto the panels?

first, you lay the material down on the rear panels after removing them from the car. Then, using a screen door spline tool, work the material into the groves. Remove the material and lay it down with the back side facing up. Use 3M headliner adhesive and spray it on the rear panels and the material (after masking it off with tape). Wait 5 minutes for the glue to tack and then lay the material over the rear panel. Using the spline tool, work it back into the groove. trim the excess material with an exacto knove and you can use the silver tinsel welt to fnish it off.

MTAS was nice enough to write the procedure up after he first did this mod. Here's the write up:
