What deck do you have? If you have the "non-shaker" then you want to look for the lowest impedence (ohms) that you can find as it will take more power to drive other speakers and they won't be clear until you give them enough juice. I bought a set of Pioneer 4-ways for $99 and stuck them in the doors. They sound much crisper than stock and put some extra bass in, but others rave about infinities and an amp.
You need to decide where this will end. I'm old and don't care much about bumpin', but I needed to hear the words over the engine, so I went for 4-ways.

i have the shaker 1000 so i think it has some good juice to it, i also listen to alot of rock and techno so i want to hear the beats and words, i love bass, hence the 1000 but i also like to hear the music more than the rattling of the speakers in the ports and feeling it
i also wanted to know if the harness that comes from crutchfield will work with the front speakers. i saw a picture and it looks like the front speakers ar 5 1/2 with tweeters, are there two different connections or just one, would it be better for me to order a component system and use the stock plate and mount the crossover
