So i finally ordered my free 60GB photo ipod, and I am eagerly waiting for my GT to be built. Anyways, I am trying to figure out how to integrate the iPod in the GT.

I have tried FM modulators that connect directly to the radio antenna, and they stink. I have tried cordless fm modulators, the stink more. I have also read that nobody has figured out how to get the aux port working in the shaker 500.

I cant believe there isnt a solution that will work effectively with the shaker system.

What head units does everyone recommend. I dont need a touchscreen display/dvd navigation/etc

I am simply looking for a decent HU with decent sound. I do like th eknob on ford stereos. pushing a button on a stereo to lower the volume stinks. An HU with a volume **** definitely scores extra points in my book

This has been an ongoing source of frustration for many ipod owners. I think eventually something decent will come around, but we're still waiting. I love the sound of my Shaker 500 system, and notice a loss of quality when I use my itrip FM transmitter, but it's not entirely unacceptable. Another get-around is to burn those MP3 files to a cd, the sound quality is awesome! I can fit a ton of songs on one cd, and there are six spots for discs.

I feel your pain. While you can get an awful lot of MP3 music on 6 CDs, it's really nice to have my entire album collection on my Creative Zen and just leave it on random. Better than any radio station!

I'm on P.I.E.'s mailing list, and they said they'd let me know when the interface they are developing is ready for prime time.

I asked about this a while back, and I just resorted to burning cds and loading the cd changer with them while I wait

I have the DLO Transpod FM Modulator, and I love it. I hear NO static when I use my iPod. I had the iTrip, and that thing was a piece of garbage. The Transpod works so much better, I believe because you plug it into the 12v power outlet, and the car battery gives it enough juice to override the station you have the unit set at. It even charges up the iPod when I am using it. I have my radio set on 88.1, a staion that, in my area is 90% static, and the songs coming out are very clear. I think this is the best unit for the money, IMO. Hope this helps.

Check further into the threads. P.I.E. has a solution now and it should be available by the end of August.

The AUX button will finally work! Ah, here it is. . .
