Intermittent-working door sub?

I've been having this problem for the last month or so -- my driver's door sub will work for 5-20 minutes, then be dead for hours, then work again, and etc. The passenger side is fine.

Switching to the AVIC hasn't changed anything -- the dealership multimetered the speaker, it's getting power, but doesn't f'ing move. They replaced the sub with a new one, same deal. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.

Are there any wiring/other issues that can shed light on this? Both myself and my dealership are baffled.

It happened to me a year or so ago. The dealer pulled the door panel off and found a loose wire. There is a very detailed troubleshooting guide for the shaker. It is not as simple as you would think.
