Interior swap.. Air bag light on!

I swapped my interior package out with the upgraded interior... replacing the passenger side air bag and also taking the steering wheel off to replace it with the leather wrapped one.(had to remove drivers side air bag to do this) Now the air bag light is on... will unplugging the air bag trigger the light to come on...?

I am going to take a lucky guess and say I have to take it to a dealer to have the light reset? I already let the car sit over night with the battery unplugged and it didn't help.

I would guess that something hasn't gone back together right.
I'll also guess that there is a 60% chance it is the steering wheel.
There are reasons to do one thing at a time and then check all systems.

Did you have the battery disconnected when you did this? If not try disconnecting it to reset the computer.

Good Idea, I had replaced the dash to a different color in a 92 coupe and when I put it all back in I pushed in the clutch and **B O O M** the air bag deployed right in my face. Somehow I had plugged in the wrong wire and the clutch sensor set it off. Definately take your time and be careful. In my accident I almost broke the fingers that were resting on the steering wheel when it blew up.
