Dayum! I had hoped that Ford would have figured this out by now. I wish they'd hurry as I have the urge to upgrade my Skipper 500...

According to KC they have tried just about everything but the kitchen sink! The errors are still appearing.

They were going to try something else this past week, still no news though.

well, I am buying a new unit, and it will be whichever happens first:

1) Factory Nav if these errors are fixed
2) Alpine IVA-W205 if the PMD-B200 Nav unit comes out

so, if this gets fixed before the new Alpine nav unit comes out, then I am all over it, otherwise...

Have you heard what price range they expect that NAV unit to be in when its finally released? When I first looked at the Alpine I saw how expensive the existing NVE-N872A nav unit was and nearly lost my lunch!

As much as I really like Alpine head units I don't much like their ala carte way of selling them!

Well,

I picked up a nav unit off ebay for just over $500. I still had to buy an antenna and the disc - but if all I suffer is the speed error, then I'm pretty happy.

Cheers

The NVE-N872A nav unit is, yes, 1700 bucks, but the one that the IVA-W205 works with (the PMD-B200) is the newer version of the PMD-B100, which retails for 500 bucks. So, the PMD-B200 shouldn't retail for much closer to the PMD-B100 than the NVE-N872A. So, if you get the IVA-W205 and the PMD-B200 you have a DVD heat unit with portable nav for ~1500 bucks.

OK...

My dealer here is not quite up to speed here with the whole navigation thing.

They are telling me that the navigation is not an option on the 07 Mustang. The CS/GT they have in the showroom is apparently a 'special order', so they cannot use the VIN off that car to program mine! (I don't believe that.) They also state that the Mercury symbol would remain.

These guys are the only ones in the city that are willing to do ANYTHING out of the ordinary to my car, so if they aren't willing to program it, then I'm not sure where to go to get this done.

redmsgt, yours came out of a mountaineer like mine did. Exactly what can I tell these guys to convince them to do this? Should I even bother? I haven't gotten the disc yet, but all the radio/cd features function, as do the illuminated buttons and clock.

Cheers

First off the navigation system is a factory option available on 07 mustangs. The cs /gt that they have in there showroom does it have the nav option. If it does have nav then you are in luck. Ask them to inhale the radio programming on their WDS from the cs / gt if it has nav as if they are doing a warranty replacement. Then download that programming to your car with the nav radio already installed. If they have done there work correctly then you will notice first that the Merc logo is gone and the Ford logo is present on the radio start up. After that radio should be programmed to work. You can then go into the radio menus and check for any codes that are present and then erase them and see if there is aspeed error code .If they do not have a car with nav then you have achoice to try another dealer or send it to Dominic at ARC for him to program. I would wait though untill the get the error sorted out if you are goig to send it to Dominic.

redmsgt,

You mentioned taking my car to Dominic at ARC. Where is he located? I'm here in Edmonton, Alberta, and the only ARC I found was for interiors. Did you mean here in Edmonton?

Cheers

Dominic is in the Boston area, his number is 781-721-0092. You would have to send him your nav system for reprogramming.

I've been waiting for the speed error to be fixed, but I'm thinking I can live with that, my lights aren't working either, so at night I have to guess which button I'm pushing.

Jay guy you should be able to get your back lights working easily from the correct programming for the radio. See my previous post.

redmsgt, I know the re-programming will take care of it, I've just been waiting for the seepd problem to be fixed, otherwise I have to send it out twice. I tried getting it reprogrammed locally, but the only person even willing to try didn't have any experience or luck with it.

If I get tired of waiting for the speed resolution, I'll send it to ARC and worry about that later.

I have a couple of questions.

1 does your subs work and the SCV?

2 can you go into the diagnostics and see if you have any errors?
