[attachmentid=21882][attachmentid=21883][attachmentid=21884]Installed my XM radio between the two dash vents. It fits perfect and the extra wire tucks right behind the unit. Mounted the antenna on the trunk lid.

No I used the power cord FM modulator, you set the car stereo to a channel and it picks the Xm broadcast it works great.Thats actually the modulator plugged in the power outlet right below the radio.

05RedfireGT, can you also post some pics, or send a link if already posted, of your CDC dash kit?
BTW, nice camera (Canon 10D) my dad just got a 20D and I have a Nikon D70, nothing like a DSLR for photos of our 05's....

When I installed mine I got a bit more creative with the location. I really didn't want it sitting on the dash where someone could more easily see it. As such I mounted it on front of the accessory light console. Both cables (power and antenna) got ran under the headliner, down the A pillar, the power split off to the fuse box while the antenna ran back to the trunk compartment.
I painted the antenna cover Mineral Grey using touch up paint I received. Now the antenna blends into the trunk lid a bit better. And reception remains good!!

I put my kenwood krc-70 display unit in the same location as you and it looks very nice.My display is a slim line design that fits perfectly between the two sensors for the alarm and is integrated perfectly because it is only about 1.5in wide and 6-7 in long

I have the Sirius Sportster in my Ranger which is FM modulated. I'm waiting to put a nice system in the Mustang. I wouldn't go with the FM Modulated type for the Mustang though. The quality is not nearly as good as having it's own tunner. If you have a signal on the station you are using the modulator on it will come through. I drove to FL and had to change stations several times. Its a pain in the butt. You can't beat the programing of Sattelite radio though, it's awesome

I have a MyFi XM unit. It's portable so you can use it like a Walkman and we switch it between cars. I put the antenna on the trunk lid on the black vinyl stripes, and ran the wire under the seats, then under the console and Dremeled a small gap in the bottom of the snap little door thing. The wires are long enough so I can pull it out to change stations, but for the most part I leave it alone unless I'm at a stoplight or something. I like the fact that it is out of sight and is movable from car to car.

In my '05, the antenna for my XM Commander is in the center of my dash, all the way up near the base of the windshield. I guess I was too lazy to run it to the back like most have done. On my first test drive, I dropped the signal before getting out of my neighborhood! But since then, it seems to work pretty well. In fact, about as well as the one on the roof of my 2004 F-150 in the recommended location. However, both are pretty much blocked out by any decent size patch of overhanging trees. With all the repeaters here in the DC area, you would think I wouldn't be having as many drop-outs. Is anyone else having trouble with their signal?
