how to remove window tint ?

I need to remove the window tint on my side windows of my 06 GT. I need to know the proper way to do this. How should this be done?

Peel a corner and rip it off. You'll end up with residual glue...use goo gone to remove it.

I rip it off and then use soapy water and a razor blade and the glue comes off easy.

Start it with a NEW razor blade, tear off as much as possible, then work the water into it as you go. Place towel over door panel or remove the panel befor you begin. Keeps things cleaner.

White vinegar in a spray bottle works well too.

Yup just recently did this...goo gone didnt work too well for me. Went with the soapy water and it was a breeze just keep spraying and use a new blade for each window and it will go smooth. Good Luck

I use dishwashing liquid/water and one of those 3M nylon scrub pads or a dishwashing sponge with a scrubby side. It works well.

The best suggestion is to pay the little bit extra for good tint the first time around.

I worked at a tint shop for 2 years and the way we did it was using a steamer to steam the tint and peel/steam. The steam made it so the glue wouldnt be left behind but thats kinda overkill for just a one time thing. Just get a razor, start at a corner and pull it off slowly. Then use 409 and spray the residue on the window pretty well and either use a razor blade to get glue off or steel wool and then squeegie it off. Use 409 as your lubricant source and then follow with any glass cleaner and paper towl when finished.
