I was wondering if someone would be able to tell me how to remove the air vents, if they are just pull, some kind of twist out etc. Ill be adding a shift light in there but a lot of the time I would rather not see it and inside the vent open or closed it wont matter. Also anyone have any ideas if I need a special type of shift light/any add ons being its a new car I havnt really looked at any of the signlas but I did email autometer and they didnt know much, neither did my dealer or local shop

If you are talking about the actual vents themselves and not the whole assembly, they just pull straight out. I pulled mine out for painting and it was pretty easy. Just get a firm grip and pull straight. They should pop right out.

Don't you think the shift light would get too hot when you have the heat on?

I really didnt think that the heat got that hot in there. I havnt even used the heat yet but Im sure I will. I'll doa little test, I was thinking that would be the best place to hide it, I dont want it all the time just on occasion when keeping the car straight is more important than looking down a bit lol

It got pretty hot. I gave up on it based on the heat. Seemed like a good idea but as cold as t is right now, I have the heat up pretty high in the AM and anything in there is subject to that. Piece of cake getting them in and out though. Done it a few times now

I just pictured you sitting in your car and randomly pulling the vents out and putting them back in for no reason. Made me chuckle

What kind of shift light? If it is a Raptor, maybe consider the SOS gauge pod with the "Raptor Claw" adaptor.

Its funny but I have been known to do things like that. I actually pulled them out a few times in traffic.

As far as what I did about the shift light I just used the one on the Gtech and now theres no real need for it. Just sometimes at the track I cant hear the car as well
