Help with wiring harness! Metra 70-5521

I need help pre-wiring the Metra 70-5521 harness up. This is a Pioneer 4400bh double din I will be putting in place of the factory Shaker 500 radio. I bought the harness and the 12v to 5v Axxess AFDI-5V regulator.

MY QUESTION: Out of the small metra harness with the RCA's, why is there TWO amp turn on wires? (pic 2)

Should those two wires out of the small metra harness be hooked together and then connected to the ONE amp turn on wire out of the big metra harness? (pic 1)

and then, if i join all of those, should those 3 wires be connected to the other wire out of the radio's harness labeled "remote turn on"???

I have searched on this topic but can't seem to find a CLEAR explanation about the amp turn on wires. And I DID NOT have to have the PAC interface, correct? I read where all that does is eliminate the pop (which i am going to wire in the 12v to 5v regulator) and it allows you to keep the radio on with the ignition off.

While I don't know the answer to your first part, I do know you're correct about NOT needing the PAC interface. I asked about it in a post a couple topics below yours and others confirmed its a waste of money and not needed.

But I will be getting a head unit within the month and installing myself. Is what you have picture the device to remove the pop? I don't know anything really about this stuff so I'm not sure.

No, the picture is only of the Metra 70-5521 wiring harness. I have everything pre-wired now I THINK.

And atrav83, so you only used ONE of the amp turn on wires from the small harness?

I also read somewhere that you dont have to connect the BIG harness amp turn on wire to anything because there is no wire coming from the factory harness for it. But as of now, I have connected the two wires from the small harness to the one on the big one (which as I said, I dont think it is needed) and then those 3 amp turn on wires are connected to the headunit harness wire "amp turn on" .....then of course there is a whole different subject on the 12v to 5v thing. but assuming everything else is right, I have that wired correct.

Yes I only used one, the only difference for me was that a ground wire was coming off my new head unit, which I just cut and taped off
