HELP With PIE Adapter
HELP With PIE Adapter
Hi all, I am installing my FRD04-AUX adapter into my 2006 GT so that I can listen to my sattelite radio without the FM modulator. I got the PIE adapter installed and that works, but I can no figure out how to hard wire my sattelite radio. I can use the cigarrette adapter to plug it in and it works fine, but I would rather have the wires hidden behind the radio. So, what I did was cut the cigarette adapter off, and now have the prong that plugs into the back of the Sirius and 2 wires that are connected to it. I tried to splice them into the cigarette lighter wires, but that did not work. I than tried to splice them into the wires that were connected to the PIE adapter, but that did no work also. So, I dont know if I need to splice them to different wires, or if I need some other kind of adapter. Any help would be great.
the best way is to do like i did, slip the wire sideways through the grove that is next to the vent then pull the dash apart, and slide the wire under the side panel and under the center console, then pull out the plastic cap and pull the cigarette lighter plug through and put it in the 12v port then put the cap back on, it will not hurt the wire, then put the dash back to gether and the wire is hidden except for the small wire (About 3in) leading up to the radio

FRD04-AUX Help
I have a 2005 mustang and I recently purchased the FRD04-AUX for my XM satalite receiver. I have installed per instructions and have had no success, i get (No aux audio) every time - somehow its just not communicating? or something???? I used the aux power adapter in the glove box for my power source and I know its getting power. Should it detect the FRD04-AUX Adapter if i have no devices plugged int to it i.e. I-pod or XM receiver??? any advise would be greatly appreciated... thanks....

i replyed to your thread and i will post pics of my newest install of my new Sportster 4 (my starmate fried from being in direct heat for too long)
1. mount your sirius reciever
2. take apart center console
3. in the arm rest on the driverside there is a black cap, pull that off
4. slide the CL adapter through the opening from where the cupholders would be
5. If starmate run to left side, if sportster run wire to the right side
6. remove the side plates on the dash
7. run wire up the side to the small gap in in the dash
8. slide the wire through the small grove and make it take the sharp turn then run it over the dash and connect it to the reciever
9. put car back together LOL
